"Peace on Earth, from Boo Boo kitty"

Tammi received her artist proof and look there's Boo Boo giving his approval!

"One and a half year old "Boo Boo" was rescued from the city pound along with his twin brother Yogi. They were both so adorable we could not decide one over the other, so both brothers came home to live with us! Boo Boo's favorite thing to do is play in the water once we turn on the kitchen/bathroom taps! He'll rush to the water the minute he hears the taps turn on! Silly Kitty!" -Tammi Palmarchuk

I received a photo from my friend Tammi Palmarchuk. She lives in Canada and is a fellow collector/friend/and real horse nut. :) We chatted by email lots of times and when I lost my own kitty, "Squishy", (which was totally my fault because I let him out one night, even though he is suppose to be an indoor kitty only). Tammi was such a comfort to me. She told me about her own losses with kitties that she had had and really helped me to not beat myself up too much.

The most amazing part of this story, (to me), is that Squishy came back! Actually one month exactly to the day later!! Unbeknownst to me, my husband had put him on our "prayer chain" at our church, which I didn't even consider because I thought, " there are much more pressing needs, and after all it was my fault that he was lost", (or in my mind had died).

Well... I can only be thankful every day for my husband's faithfulness and God's graciousness, because Squishy did indeed find his way home! He was very emaciated and would not have lasted more then another few days, if that. Needless to say there was MUCH rejoicing around our household! And I had the added thrill of being able to email Tammi and tell her the news! :) Along with my other friends who had shared in this heartbreak and then triumph with me.

All of this said, when I saw this photo of Tammi's "Boo Boo" kitty, I just HAD to paint him! I hope that he inspires you much as he did me! If there were ever a picture of "Peace" I think this is it!

"Boo Boo" will be offered as a limited edition "Giclee" print, of 50 pieces. The size of the print is 12" x 14". Each canvas will come stretched and mounted onto a wood frame. All painting was done in acrylic's completely free hand from start to finish, (no photo enhancement, projectors used, etc.), by Caroline Boydston.

There are already quite a few that are spoken for. There will also be 10 artist proofs, or artist copies, that are all spoken for. If you are interested in ordering a print they are $125.00 each ppd, within the continental United States.

Kitty prints now come in three different sizes, 5" x 7" for $45.00 each and 8" x 10" for $65.00 each, plus postage. Both are also limited to 50 prints

I will need a minimum of $25.00, (non-refundable), down to reserve your copy. The balance will need to be paid when the print is ready to ship, (approximately 10 to 30 days from the ordering date). You will be contacted by email when your order is ready to go.

Kitty print note cards are 4 1/2" X 6 3/4". Printed on high quality card stock, envelope included, blank on inside. Cards are $2.00 each, plus postage.

Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thank you to all that have expressed an interest so far, and to all those kitty lovers out there, they share such a special place in our hearts. :)

Sincerely,
Caroline Boydston

What is a Giclée Print?

The name Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is derived from the French verb gicler meaning 'to squirt'. A Giclée print is a high-resolution, archival quality digital print produced by the ink-jet process and is a recognized fine art print category just like lithographs and serigraphs.

In short, the process begins when an original image is scanned or digitally "captured" by camera. Because no screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs. The dynamic color range is like serigraphy (silk-screening). The Giclée process provides superior color, offering richer colors and accuracy than other means of reproduction.

Numerous giclée prints have been tested for longevity by independent third party laboratories associated with this industry. Depending on your choice of printable substrates, the minimum print life spans are 80-150 years.

It is recommended to treat giclée prints the same as you would any original piece of art. Have them professionally framed using only archival-grade materials and UV protective glass or plexiglass over matted art on paper. Also important is to never expose any type of artwork to prolonged sunlight or other harsh conditions.
